Life's Little Pleasures

Hello and happy Friday everyone!!!TGIF surely for me.  Since I was on vacation last week, this current week for me was dragging, it might be the effect of a very relaxing and romantic :) time off with hubby! Sometimes the busy-ness of life makes us forget of what pleasure  little things bring us, and these are as pleasurable as the big ones. With that in mind I was inspired to create this mini album. I actually have this prep for a while and finally completed now.

With this album I use the

Clear Scraps 8X8 Tab Album.

Other supplies used: Making Memories Papers, Heidi Swapp CB Alphabet..

Thanks for stopping by.....until next time!

Storyline Acrylic ATCs

DSC_8716

Have you tried to create an ATC before? Most of us had participated in one or more ATC swaps with our fellow scrappers. Besides that, what else you can do with Clear Scraps acrylic ATCs? Why not, try creating a storyline using them.

Check out the ATCs above, the storyline flows from the left to right. This is a very fun project. You don't have to complete the storyline in one shot. What I've done is do it once a week. I only think of the next storyboard when I want to create it. Storytelling had been so much fun when I'm young and now, I can still do it but just in a little different way. You can even make it into a storybook when you're all done with your ATCs. Try it!

Keeping it simple

Sometimes when working with clear acrylic I think that keeping it simple can make a bold statement.
For this layout I did just that.

Cskinder1

I left lots of clear acrylic exposed and unadorned. (The only problem is when you have to take photos
of your project to post them online, the photos are extremely difficult to take!)
I started with the XL Scallop shape from Clear Scraps and just focused on utilizing the center of the shape
for most of my embellishing.
Cskinder4

Then on the two edges I just added a bit of detail. I think this makes the viewer take a closer look since
it can look as if the details are just floating and add a very eye catching look!

New avatar

Hello! I'm Wendy Price and I live in New Jersey with my husband and boys. I've been scrapbooking and stamping for almost ten years now, but I've doing something crafty since I was old enough to hold a pair of scissors. I love the creative outlet that papercrafting provides! I'm so excited to be joining the Clear Scraps Design Team!
You will be amazed by her creativity, this is just one of her beautiful projects!

Welcome to Clear Scraps Wendy.

Welcome Elena!

It is a pleasure to welcome Elena to the Clear Scraps Team!

IMG_7023.resizedI am from Belarus (Eastern Europe).
I have been scrapping for more than 5 years,  and completely addicted to
it past 2 years.
What about my style, so now it is difficult to determine. I am
exploring at the present moment grunge and mixed media, but
being a very gentle person my projects tend to be more feminine. That is
why I like also some shabby and vintage. I adore using paints, mists and
lace.
My husband is a great support in every aspect of my life, and I'm very
happy that he accepts all my beginnings and crazy plans without any
objections. My 6 years old daughter inspires me to be creative. And I
have new bundle of inspiration - my new born son
I hope I can be creative and inspirational for all of you too.

You can find more inspiration from Elena on her blog here

Introducing KC!

Closeup 2
Hi, I'm KC.  I grew up in the Chicago area but have lived in Central Missouri for the last 18 years.  I am married to a wonderful man that supports my crafting obsession and tolerates the constant clutter and mess that my hobbies create.  I come from a very creative family - my father was an Architect, my mother was a very talented painter and crafter, my oldest sister is a world-renowned doll artist (Dianna Effner) and my other sister and I like to explore a wide variety of craft mediums.  I have two beautiful daughters - a third grader and a college sophomore.  I am hoping they have inherited the crafting gene.
I fought the scrapbook trend for a very long time and still would not consider myself to be a scrapbooker or paper crafter.  However, my sisters and I attend the CHA show every summer and before I knew it, I had a house full of scrapbook supplies.  I just couldn't resist all the fun tools and toys!  We discovered Clear Scraps at CHA about 3 years ago, and I've loved working with their products ever since.  I am so excited to get to play with more of thier products and be a part of this talented team!
Here is a sample of what she can dow ith Clear Scraps!
We are sure you will find inspiration in her work.

Please Welcome Kay!

Today we have the pleasure of introducing Kay!

She is an amazing designer from NJ....

Kay

My name is Karla but I'm better known as Kay--a nickname I received in college & it simply stuck.  I've loved arts/crafts my whole life.  I've been drawing since the first time I picked up my first crayon.  However, it wasn't until 2007 that I discovered scrapbooking & haven't looked back since.  Scrapbooking provides a means for me to release my artsy side & to document my life in order to pass down to future generations.  Along the way, I also discovered the art of stamping--I tend to stamp my own backgrounds & create my own designs.  I also enjoy doing the occasional altered art.  I've altered wooden frames, wooden boxes, mini albums & have done a couple of canvases.

By day, I'm a senior level Quality Analyst working for a Fortune 100 global company. I'm married to a great guy that puts up with & supports my scrapbook & crafting addiction!  I have my first child on the way & a fur-baby by the name of Toby who is my little ray of sunshine.

I'm looking forward to working with the Clear Scraps team & to hopefully provide innovative inspiration to some of you along this new creative journey!

To find out more about me--feel free to visit my blog: http://www.kayskreativekorner.blogspot.com/
This is one of Kay's projects, just amazing work.

Rub-Ons & Clear Scraps Acrylic!

Good morning Clear Scraps friends,

Pnky here with a Clear Scraps Send It Clear Fancy Card today....

It doesn't take much to make me happy, just asome acrylic and a few rub-ons...that it!

I am a happy camper. Have you tried rub-ons on the Clear Scraps acrylic yet?

DSC_0016

You should! They are super easy and really make the acrylic pop!

Here is a close up of the star rub-ons I used on this Clear Scraps Fancy card.

DSC_0017

All you need to do is peel off the protective film, then apply the rubon, that's it!
No muss - no fuss.  I love the shape of this Fancy card too, it reminds me of doors so I added 2 "doorknobs".

DSC_0018
Did you know EVERY Send It Clear card comes with not only the entire card and stickers to put it together, but also a beautiful envelope? It fits perfectly!

If you have not ried the Send It Clear cards...now is the time!

I had alot of fun with this one.

Until next time....keep creating with acrylic!

Stamping on Textured Cardstock

Special Treat ATC(resize)
Sometime ago, I've been asked, how do I get a perfectly stamped image on a textured cardstock? Today, I would like to share with you all a little ATC which involves this simple tip. The secret is to add an acrylic piece on top of the cardstock before stamping!

In the ATC above, I've added a Clear Scraps acrylic ATC on top of the textured cardstock. Then, I stamped the words and flowers on the acrylic. Just make sure you use a solvent ink or permanent ink (Staz On) to stamp your images. Isn't this simple?

Here's a close-up on it.

Hope you all find this little tip useful! Happy scrapping!

Lucky Mom

HI Clear Scraps peeps! Tonya here today to share with you a layout that I made featuring an XL Dazed flower shape.

                                                 Csluckymom1

                                                 Csluckymom2

                                                 Csluckymom3

                                                 Csluckymom4

For the edges on this I simply used my Crop-o-dile to punch some holes at all of the petal points and then threaded the holes with some twine. After I had done that I simply outlined the edges with little polka dots using a ZIG paint pen.
