Spring is right around the corner, which means Summer isn't far behind.
Soon we'll be opening up the pool again for the season, which lead me to thinking about all the fun we had out in the sun last year.
Today I'll be showing you step by step how I dressed up this Expressions Clear Word Title, Fun in the Sun.

I knew I wanted it to look fiery like the sun in the heat of Summer, so I chose these items to color this fun title.

R17 copic marker
Alcohol Ink in Watermelon & Butterscotch
Studio Calico Mister Huey Spray in Custard
and I used Tim Holtz Alcohol ink applicator
Start off by working on a non-stick craft mat. Peel the protective covering off the back of the word title.

Grab your Alcohol ink applicator and put a couple drops of Watermelon & Butterscotch alcohol on the applicator. Unscrew the Mister Huey Custard and drop a couple of drops of that color near the butterscotch.

Dab the applicator with colors all over your word title until you're happy with the results.

To outline the edge of the title, I grabbed my R17 Copic Marker, (leaving the protective film on) and slowly traced around the edge of the title. The reason why I left the protective film on is in case my marker slipped on me while outlining. Sure enough, there were several times my marker slid off the edge onto the front of the letter. With the film in place, those marks will not be there once I pull the film off.

Once your outline is complete, go ahead and pull off the protective film.
Beautiful, yes?
Let's dress it up more.
On the front of the word title, add rub ons.
I chose to use a few tiny flowers.
Rub ons go on so easily onto Clear Scraps acrylic!

Try to place the rub ons strategically on the word title, if you think a little ahead, you can hide your glue behind the rub ons when its time to adhere the title.
I placed the pop dots right behind the rub ons on the backside.

Only thing left to do is place it on your project.
Here's a close up of mine on my layout.

With the title popped up, if you look closely, you can see the color shadow from the title on the background paper. I love that!

I hope I've inspired you to pull out your Clear Scraps and Alcohol inks and have fun playing!! We would love to see what you do! Link up to us in the comments section of the blog post, or share on our facebook wall!
Have a happy creative day!
