Imagine Home Decor Item

Good day Clear Scraps friends!

I am a huge fan of make it yourself home decor items.
We're in the process right now of building a new room for my oldest daughter, so I wanted to create something fun and whimsical for her to hang in there once her room is complete.

Let me show you what I used.
Scallop Corners Plaque
CSEAscallop-2T
and the large word title Imagine
CSLTimagine-1

ClearScraps_Expressions_Imagine_LeahCrowe

I first started off by adhering plain white cardstock to the back of the scallop plaque.
I then took my Copic markers and the air brush system to create the dots of color on the front of the plaque.

ClearScraps_Expressions_Imagine2_LeahCrowe
For the word Imagine, I also used my copics and airbrush along with my stencils to brush in color in different designs along the word.
Isn't that pretty?

ClearScraps_Expressions_Imagine3_LeahCrowe
I added ribbon to hide the white paper seams from the cardstock I added behind the plaque, and to finish it off I added that cute owl I found on clearance at my local big box craft store.

My daughter has no idea she will be getting this for a gift, don't you think it's a perfect way to add color to a room?

Thanks so much for checking in with us today!
I hope you have enjoyed this post.

Giggles

My husband is a big ol' teaser and when you pair him up with my daughter it is non stop giggles! The photos on this layout depict that perfectly.

                                             Ssgiggles1

I started with an XL Deco shape and outlined it with a ZIG paint pen. Then I adhered some jewels in all of the little indents around the edge. All of the patterned paper circles were made by adhereing different pieces of patterned paper to a large scrap of cardstock and then the circles were die cut with my Spellbinders die templates.  The decorative red card stock square was made using my Martha Stewart punches and then I cut the center out so that the Clear Scraps acrylic was still the star of the show.

There's a reason that this product was voted by CHA as one of the top 20 new products at this last show! They are awesome. PERIOD! So fun and easy to work with and such a cool concept. I have two of these cardsto share with you, both using the same line from Pebbles Inc....Fresh Goods.

                                            Csscallopcard1

                                            Csscallopcard2

                                            Csscallopcard3

This next one is the Belgrave Send It Clear Card. On this one I embossed the two front flaps with one of the new Spellbinders M-bossabilities folders.

                                             Pubacrylic3

                                             Pubacrylic4

Stencils and Clear Scraps?

Here's another idea for the new Send it Clear cards!
Now I will say that it was very difficult to get a good picture
( it may have been user error!) but I promise you if you try this at home you
will love the results! I used thick gel medium, mixed in a litttle yellow
Gelato ( you could use paint, or mist- be careful not to add to much and
run down the consistency) and a stencil! Brush it on, lift the stencil  and
you get this 3-D cool looking card! Before it dried I added some fine glitter
on top! Here are some more views...
The center is a little notepad from Pink Paislee,
I used Scrap Happy Glue to hold it in place and
over the top so I could add more glitter.
Here's a different view, I really love texture and although
I am not a yellow kinda of gal it all kinda fell into place. I  do think
I will try this again with another color - I love experiments!
One more look!
I hope you try this technique!
Supplies: Clear Scraps Send it Clear cards,
Golden Heavy Gel Medium Glossy,
The rubber Cafe Scrap Happy Glue & Youre so fine Glitter,
Pink Paislee Note pad,
Design Memory Craft Gelato, Authentique word stickers

Dressing up!

Every once & awhile don't you get nostalgic for the toys of your youth??  I know I do.  And when I saw these acrylic dress forms in my Clear Scraps box just before CHA, I got a craving to play with paperdolls....remember them?  The little tabs that you folded over their shoulders to make the dresses stay on?  I think I used to have a set with hair that you could change out too - like wigs.  OK....enough of the memory lane trip.

What I was trying to say was:  these dressforms, in my opinion, needed dressing up.  I love that there are so many products out there that work on acyrlic - it makes playing so much fun.

IMG_0640

I painted the top of this dress blue with a large Marvy Paint marker (on the back of the acrylic so the front would be slick and smooth).  On the front then, I added a rub-on from an older Daisy'D's pack.  It was originally a heart-shaped rub-on but it worked perfectly as the top of a dress.  Across the bottom, I pleated and glued on some vintage lace.  Sweet, isn't it?  Silver Staz-on coloured the "stand" of the dress form to make it look like this pretty little number was just sitting in the window of your favourite boutique waiting for you to come snatch it up for the next party :)

Pick some of these dress forms up today!!  I would love to see what you decorate yours with!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Cupcakes and kisses

Good morning friends!
Today I wanted to show you another Send it Clear card!

CSSICcupcake-2T
When you get your card, it comes with the top 2 panels for the front of the card, the back panel for the card, clear stickers to hinge your card, and a crystal clear envelope for mailing.

Is there anything better than chocolate cupcakes and love from your sweetie?

Cupcake_Card_LeahCrowe

I went a little cupcake crazy on this card, as my children love them so much!

I used one of my Cuttlebug folders to emboss the front panels of the card with Happy Birthday, then proceeded to decorate with more cupcakes and bling.

Cupcake_Cardcl_LeahCrowe
This cupcake card has a buckle where the left side tucks into the right.
It's pure genius in design. I love it!
Cupcake_CardOpen_LeahCrowe

This is what it looks like opened up.
How fun this is going to be giving it away to a friend on their birthday!

Thanks for letting me share with you today!

Cousins Layout

Good morning friends!

This morning I wanted to show you a layout I created using the Clear Scraps 12x12 sheet of acrylic and the ever handy clear embellishments.
Here is what I used.
CS12PAGE-2T

CSAEflourish-2T

CSAEflowers-2
CSAElamps-2T

And here is my layout.
The white you see behind the layout is actually clear, it just photographed this way in my light box. :)

200+large+Leah
I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut out the chevron background and adhered it on top of the 12 x 12 acrylic sheet. I thought that was so neat because of all you can still see through the layout. I created several rolled flowers and layered them with the clear acrylic flower embellishments.

200c+-+Leah

I even layered the clear flourish with the flowers.
The acrylic is gorgeous untouched.

200d+-+Leah

Of course, you can add some paper on top or behind and embellishment to jazz it up a bit more too like I did here with this lamp post.
I was not perfect in cutting the wood grain paper for the lamp post, but to me, that just adds more charm!

Thanks so much for stopping in with us today!!
Hope the rest of your day is filled with happiness!

Girls Bib Dress Album with Leah

Hello Clear Scraps friends!

I am so tickled to show you this new album today. When I laid eyes on it so many different ideas sprung to mind. A Baby's 1st Album, Happy birthday, Christening, Easter, Christmas Dress, but I finally decided upon my daughters First Birthday as the theme to this sweet Clear Scraps Girls Bib Dress Album.

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_1a_LeahCrowe

On the cover and throughout the album I also used the new clear baby accent embellishments.

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_2_LeahCrowe

I find when creating a mini album, it's the perfect time to use up new purchases as well as stuff you have had in your scrappy stash for awhile. :)
ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_3_LeahCrowe

Grandma couldn't wait until Samantha's first birthday to get her ears pierced.

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_5_LeahCrowe

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_6_LeahCrowe
A fun tip: You can create a pocket out of pretty much anything. Here, I only glued three sides of the cake photo down, and used another 6x4 photo as the insert by adding some ribbon and a border to the photo.

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_7_LeahCrowe

The cake. It's the most looked forward to of all First Birthday parties, and such a sad photo for the album... I needed quite a bit of space to tell the story, so I cut out a present shape using my Silhouette Cameo that conveniently turned into a journaling card.
ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_7a_LeahCrowe

I promise, she was just fine minutes after that photo was taken. :)

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_8_LeahCrowe

ClearScrapsBabyGirlAlbum_9_LeahCrowe

I had such a wonderful time looking back 6 years to my daughter's first birthday and putting this album together. How sweet would it be to have a album like this for each special childhood milestone?

I hope you enjoyed seeing the new Girls Bib Dress Album with me today!

xoxo,
Leah C

Paperless: a black & white album

No patterned paper was harmed in the making of this album :)

I love this Chipboard Camera album from Clear Scraps.  It has hundreds of potential themes for a mini-album but when I did this one up just before CHA, I had just had a little photo-shoot done with my kiddos so it was perfect for showcasing some of my favourites.  I wanted to put both B&W and also colour photos in here so I thought keeping the backgrounds with less colour might be the way to go.

IMG_0653

I laid all the album pages out on my floor (on a drop sheet) and spray-painted them all with black spray paint;  flipped them over and did the other sides.  Then, after adding my photos, I spent several hours doodling on every page with my white Uniball Signo pens.  I love how it turned out.

IMG_0654

I even journaled a little in the white pen!
