Dressing up!

Every once & awhile don't you get nostalgic for the toys of your youth??  I know I do.  And when I saw these acrylic dress forms in my Clear Scraps box just before CHA, I got a craving to play with paperdolls....remember them?  The little tabs that you folded over their shoulders to make the dresses stay on?  I think I used to have a set with hair that you could change out too - like wigs.  OK....enough of the memory lane trip.

What I was trying to say was:  these dressforms, in my opinion, needed dressing up.  I love that there are so many products out there that work on acyrlic - it makes playing so much fun.

I painted the top of this dress blue with a large Marvy Paint marker (on the back of the acrylic so the front would be slick and smooth).  On the front then, I added a rub-on from an older Daisy'D's pack.  It was originally a heart-shaped rub-on but it worked perfectly as the top of a dress.  Across the bottom, I pleated and glued on some vintage lace.  Sweet, isn't it?  Silver Staz-on coloured the "stand" of the dress form to make it look like this pretty little number was just sitting in the window of your favourite boutique waiting for you to come snatch it up for the next party :)

Pick some of these dress forms up today!!  I would love to see what you decorate yours with!

Thanks for stopping by!!
