Going somewhere?

Hi Clear Scrap fans! I'm here today to share with you a quick little card. Now, if I can just find somebody taking a trip so that I can send it their way!

For this card I used the new accents from the summer CHA release...Vacation Embellishments.

To color the suitcase shape that I used on this card I pulled out my Ranger Alcohol inks. I love the marbled look that it gives the acrylic, sort of looks like well traveled worn leather.

Glitter, and lots of it.

I am a messy scrapbooker.  The irony of that is, I'm most creative when I have a clean space to work in so I spend 1/2 my time cleaning up...and then I promptly proceed to make a big mess again.  BUT, I love this process of putting glitter on the flat adhesive Wall Art sheets from Glue Arts - it's beautiful but not too messy (ie: less to clean up which equals more time to work on the next project!).

Christmas love layout

For this layout I used 3 different Clear Scraps products:

  a 12x12 sheet of acyrlic,

a few of the ATC cards

and the Large Expressions word LOVE.

I also used Terrifically Tacky Tape (for the thin borders) and Glue Arts Wall Art Decor Adhesive sheets for the word LOVE.  This is soooooooooo much more precise and clean than any liquid adhesive I've every tried for glitter!

I completely covered the word and the borders with adhesive, poured red glitter on it and rubbed like crazy, burnishing the glitter to a nice smooth finish.  I then sprayed a coat of Krylon Preserve It! overtop so it wouldn't rub off.  Easy.  And only one little piece of scrap paper with a little excess glitter to clean up at the end.

OK, on to the next project :)

Little Angels!!!

Hello everyone!!! It's me Adora.  Today I will share with you this fun project I made using the

" Clear Mini Angel Album" !!!

I made it into a wall hanging with of course photos of these little people, they are my scrapbook subject, my son, grandson and my nieces! Again, I used alcohol ink on this project. it reminds me of the stained windows you see at churches. :) I stamped the inked acrylic and added some embellishments. I attached the angel together as shown with a terrifically tacky tape.

Here's another look at it!

Sparks!

This 4th of July I was able to capture some fab photos of my niece and son playing with sparklers and fireworks.  I knew exactly what I wanted on my layout--sparks that fly!

To accomplish this look I first traced an XL Dazed Circle onto Pink Paislee patterned paper to make a base for the acrylic shape to stand out against. I added this to the Pink Paislee background paper after inking the edges with black ink.  Then I stamped a series of dots in ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink on the back of the XL Dazed Circle and heat set the ink. On the front, I stamped a starburst pattern in MetaleXtra ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set the ink.

I then mounted the XL Dazed Circle to the page with glue dots placed where I knew I would be mounting the photo. When working with clear or acrylic items. placement of adhesive requires extra attention because it should not be visible on the final project. I sprayed two opposite corners of the layout with Smooch Spritz spray ink in Navy Twinkle and Sea Breeze and then sprayed the other corners with Gold Glow. As I heat set the spray ink with a heat gun, I folded up some of the softened acrylic scallops on the XL Dazed Circle to reveal the paper circle underneath. I then added my photos, stickers, and stars cut from Stacy Julian Core'dinations Cardstock.

I used the Pennants Embellishments to create festive pennant flags on sticks, inking the edges with MetaleXtra ink to make them stand out. I added Jenni Bowlin flag stickers on top of each acrylic pennant to cover the adhesive used to secure the pennants to the page. The layer of inks on both sides of the acrylic make for a multi-layered spark effect perfect for the feel of my photos. That's one of the things I love about acrylic--so much depth can be achieved on a relatively flat layout by decorating both sides of the acrylic shape or diecut.

Hope you are inspired to make your next layout "spark"!

Lot's of Gesso!

Hi all!

It's Hilde again to show you a nice technique.

This time I decorated a Top Load album. I wanted to create an album for my son Thomas. First I used a sponge with white acrylic paint and just dabbed on the edges. After that I used some nice colors of alcohol ink and simply dropped on the cover and let it dry to the air.

Then comes the fun part!!!

I used a wooden stick to add big layers of gesso on the edges. Still wet I added some rhinestones on it and gently pushed them into the gesso.

Then you need to let it dry for let's say 12 hours. ( yes, you need to be patient ).

But the waiting is worth it......I will show you!

Clear Scraps Sponsored "All About Acrylics" Class

This month at Miss Arts, and sponsored by CLEAR SCRAPS, our designer Heidi Kelley's class "All About Acrylics" went live! If you are intimidated at all about how to work with acrylic, this class is perfect for you!!! To sign up, visit http://missartspapercrafting.com/ today. :))
Miss Art's Class Description:
"Honesty is the best policy in life, but it comes with its own challenges. Remember when your best friend asked you how that puce taffeta monstrosity made her complexion look? Working with clear materials like acrylic can be much the same way. Acrylic is a strong versatile medium that adds depth and interest to projects, but it can also be a bit intimidating to work with. Join Heidi Kelley in her 101 class sponsored by Clear Scraps. In “All About Acrylics,” Heidi hurdles the challenges of working with clear materials. In 3 easy-to-follow videos she guides you through embossing, inking, punching, stitching and stamping acrylic. Heidi shares the secrets of gluing on a clear surface, as well as, acrylic’s unique ability to be melted and molded into one of a kind embellishments. If your artwork is in need of a little clarity, register for our Clear Scraps sponsored “All About Acrylics” 101 class today."

Here are a couple peeks at what Heidi demonstrates creating....

A banner tutorial!

Today I am going to show you an easy way to make a banner using an acrylic Small Pennant Banner from Clear Scraps! (It comes 5 pennants in a package so I did use two packages. )
First thing you have to do is remove the protective lining!
Then cut your strips of paper measuring 3 3/4" x 3, one for each letter of your word.
I used my Glue Arts Glider Pro to adhere the papers to the first pennant.
Because the acrylic is clear you can lay the next pennant on top of the first so
you can be sure they will all line up before adhering the next papers.

I took Rangers  Paint Daubber in Pearl and edged all around the outside of the pennant.

Add your letters and embellish each pennant!

~Going to the FAIR!~

Good morning Clear Scraps friends!!!

Pinky here from a hot and muggy TN.

Every year my dear friend Sandy enters the local fair Floral Competetion. I am always amazed at her beautiful green thumb and how her flowers bloom so perfectly!

This year I decided to make a special magnetic frame for her to showcase her prize winning flowers.

SunflowerMagneticFrame

She can change out the picture from year to year. I knew I wanted it to last so I used the very sturdy Clear Scraps 12X12 acrylic sheet, I cut it down to size, then covered it with a nice thick cardstock. Then I added my embellishments.

SunflowerMagneticFrame3
Since it has the acrylic on it, it will last alot longer and I think it turned out really pretty too!

SunflowerMagneticFrame1
You know my Clear Scraps acrylic really does come in handy in so many ways, from a layout to a heartfelt gift.

Pinky~ Clear Scraps Design Team

Supplies used: Clear Scraps 12X12 Acrylic Sheet

Core'dinations White Wash Card Stock, green card stock, brown card stock

Colorbox ink

Vintage Lace, Momenta paper

Counting My Blessings!!!

Good Monday morning scrappers!!! Adora here to share with you a little  bit of me, thru this layout. Introducing my 3 children. First of all they are my scrapbook pages, scrapbooking will not be the same without them :) . Jeng, my eldest is 28, Jason is 18 and my youngest, Miguel  is 13.  You probably notice the age gap, it was not really  our plan, It just happens that way, always say it was God's plan for us. But  I can tell you even with the age gap, they are no different from any other siblings, they argued and fight as much. LOL! and closer than they can be. I love them, they are my blessings.

I created this layout using  the new Clear Scraps Pennants   &  Clear Scraps Butterflies Embellishments. I love these, there's so many ways you can embellish them and it always turns out beautifully,  and sometimes even just using it as is.  Clear Scraps  also teamed up with Core'dination, Pink Paislee and Glue Arts and I love it! I used Corediantions,  Color core cardstock as the base of this layout, then layered Pink Paislee paper to frame my photo.

And so here's the finished product!!!

   Blessings

Other supplies I used are: Heidi Swap Plastic Alpha, Crepe Paper and Martha Stewart punch.

 Have a good week !!!

Adora
