Hello everyone! It's Irene here and in conjunction with the Clear Scraps and Pink Paislee week, I would like to share with you all the above layout which I've created using Clear Scraps XL shape and Pink Paislee Sweetness line. I've also used some Clear Scraps newly released "Clear Accent Embellishments" (banners amd dress form) on this layout.

Here are some details on it.

   
I've also used a Clear Scraps mini "Family" Expression to create the title of the layout.

Ribbon instead of paper on acrylic

I have a bit of a ribbon fetish….is there Ribbon-lovers anonymous? 

Just kidding….I have no intentions of quitting my hoarding.

I did, however, jump at the chance to use these lovely Ruffled ribbon strips from Pink Paislee….everywhere and anywhere I could, until it was all used up.  On this Noel Acrylic Tri-fold frame from Clear Scraps, I used 4 different kinds of ribbon – working them all together so that I didn’t even need any patterned paper for the whole project.  In fact, If I had had my photos ready for this frame, I wouldn‘t have needed any cardstock to hold my places either.  The ruffled ribbon made the perfect base-border for my frame.  I also added the large jeweled broach from Pink Paislee to the bow at the top of my silver acrylic bells. 

 

 

In addition to the Pink Paislee ribbon and broach, I also used ribbon from May Arts and  Creative Impressions,   silver paint from Delta, silver leafing pen from Krylon, jewels from Imaginisce, and rub-ons and chipboard letters from Heidi Swapp.

School Portraits Clear Scraps Style

It's Pink Paislee week here at Clear Scraps!! I have always loved the "Old School" line from Pink Paislee and I was so excited to be able to create with it this week. The muted colors and classic designs are perfect for any school themed project, no matter your 1976 elementary school photos or your child's first day of school next week. It pairs perfectly with Clear Scraps!

Tomorrow we've got an appointment with the school counselor at the Jr. High. On the agenda: selecting classes, getting to know the campus, and school ID photos. My daughter Katie is insistent that TODAY we must go get her a new haircut for that photo.  And it got me thinking. Now is a great time to get ready to scrap school photos. I always have an overabundance of 8x10 photos, class photos, and the like from school portrait packages and they feel so out of place in my regular scrapbooks amongst the candid, "real life" photos on most of my layouts.  

The solution is an album dedicated solely to the school portrait.

The Clear Scraps 12x12 Top Load Album is perfect for this kind of project - customizable yet slim and easy to store. Each album holds ten 12x12 sheet protectors or up to 20 inner pages. Here's how I planned out my pages:

1. Intro Page - Covered in twelve 2.3" x 3.5" squares to put a wallet photo for each grade.

It's perfect!

To start my album I decorated the cover using paint and Pink Paislee's "Old School" paper collection. I painted the edges of the cover with black acrylic paint. Then I stamped letters along the bottom of the cover using red acrylic paint and foam stamps (hey, remember those?). It's all about "old school"!

I then outlined the letters using Sharpie Paint Pen, coloring some of the letters in. I then use a paper towel and water to rub the paint from the cover in some spots to give it an aged look. 

I used the Gingerbread House from the Clear Scraps Clear N Chip Holiday Treats pack to create a school house for the cover of the book. I traced the house onto paper and cut out the paper, adhering it to the back of the acrylic house,. I then painted the edges with black paint and added a punched star from coordinating paper plus 3 buttons.

I stamped a star burst pattern emanating from the school house using Staz-On ink.  I then added Pink Paislee and Echo Park sticker letters for a title and tied ribbons around the cover. I adhered two of my daughter's used pencils to the cover-- a little personal touch!

I adhered the diecut "Members Only" paper to the back of the cover, placing the adhesive behind the ribbon and the house to hide it from view. Now the book is ready to add my daughter's school photos year after year.

Bliss Banner

happy Sunday everyone. Today I want to kick off the Pink Paislee partnership week here at the blog with a banner made with the Home Sweet Home acrylic banner along with the Hometown summer line of Pink Paislee. Come check it out....

I changed the configuration of the banner a bit using only two hearts and two stars along with the house piece. I wanted my home banner to be titled differently than what we've seen out there so far. and the "bliss" word came out which signifies how I feel about my family.

 

I used the pattern papers to cover the backs of the acrylic pieces and then made pinwheel middles for my banner title to go onto.

 

I also added some red Stickles glitter glue on the edges of each shape. I think this little step gives a finished touch to the acrylic pieces. I connected the shapes with ribbon and sprinkled some Accent Creative Design flowers as well.

Blossoming Layout

Good morning from beautiful TN! Pinky here with another creation using Clear Scraps.

You know even after all this time I still have a deep passion for using Clear Scraps acrylic, the shapes, the designs, the creativity...it never ends. I am always envisioning something new with my Clear Scraps acrylic pages, shapes and albums. 

I had these photos of my tree blossoming this spring and it just felt right. Why not celebrate the beauty all around me that inspires me every day. 

When I am in my home in the country I feel nothing but safety and peace inside. I am very excited to capture that feeling on this page, I know many years from now I will look back and see this page and think about all those springs my tree bloomed and those peaceful times.

After all that is what scrapbooking is all about (for me anyways), capturing those memories.

A little snippet of those feelings from so long ago.  

I hope you were inspired by today's post! Go create something amazing with your acrylic. Even if it is a photo of nature, or maybe your coffe maker...or that special MUG, go capture that one memory and put it in your scrapbook.

Getting misty

One of my favorite techniques to use with Clear Scraps acrylic is misting. The only downside to it is that you need to prepare ahead of time. Since acrylic isn't a porous surface you have to wait quie a while for the misting to dry. I usually mist the acrylic at night before I head to bed and then when I get up in the morning it is good and dry. Another tip is to use a sealant over the top. Most of the mists that are on the market are water soluble and just the slightest touch from something damp can smear it.

On this layout I used a metallic reddish pink from Tattered Angels, I have also used Maya Mist successfully. For those of you that may have Mr. Huey's they don't work, the mist never dried for me. I started with an XL Heart shape and used an older Heidi Swapp Mask on it to spray over.

Big thanks to Pink Paislee for contributing to the Clear Scraps DT. I was sent the Sweetness line, love the colors and the romantic, vintage feel of it.

I colored the chipboard alphas using Distress Ink.

Key to my heart (layout)

Happy Wednesday everyone. Grace here sharing a layout with you using the new keys and locks "Clearly Accent Embellishments".

Don't you just love it when inspiration strikes you in the most unexpected ways? Well that's what happened to me with this page. I really loved the keys and locks pack and racked my brain as to how to use it. After going through my photos, I came across this photo of me and hubby and the "keys" inspiration made me come up with the title and journaling for this page. This just shows you that inspiration doesn't always have to come out from photos and/or stories. Sometimes products can lead you to prompts that you haven't even thought about!

 

With the keys, I ran them through my embossing folder first to create small but distinct dimension on them. Then I painted the back white. I like to do this so I can keep the shiny aspect of the acrylic piece. I then made tags from pattern paper to place my "special" keys.

 

I continued the Key theme with my title.

A Bit of Bubbly!

I am in wedding mode lately, as my brother in law is getting married in a month and half. I have been busy, busy, making wedding programs, bridal shower cards, etc., and clear scraps has played a beautiful role! I am going to show you today how to make some cute little champagne glasses for embellishments, or perhaps even a fun first Christmas ornament for the newleyweds....

First, doodle a picture of a champagne glass on a scrap of extruded acrylic. I use a permanent marker, and do it while the protective sheet is on, that way you can see the image and have no lines remaining after you cut it out. (This can be from some leftover album, sheet, whatever you'd like!)

Then cut out the image, trace it onto a second piece of acrylic, and cut that one out as well.

Next, after taking off the protective sheet from BOTH SIDES - grab some Ranger Mixatives in Silver, and cover your champagne glasses completely. You don't need much, just pick up and swirl slightly to cover, and then let dry completely.

Doesn't it create awesome texture?!!!! Almost like real silver, so beautiful. Next, grab some crystals. I used Prima's Say it in Crystals. Add some "bubbly" to the inside of your glasses... randomly and from bigger at the bottom, to smaller on the top.

I topped my crystals with a bit of Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox for just a teeny bit more glam. (Using a paintbrush, I just dipped it into the spritz and dabbed it on.)

Finally, place on your card (if you are making a card) or punch a small hole and embellish any way you'd like for a keepsake ornament for the newleyweds! Mine I finished off in card form for a bridal shower, with a "toast" on the inside that reads:

"May each day you spend together be full of the small things that make life wonderful."

Batty in Blue - Halloween Layout

Halloween layouts don''t have to be spooky or even be black and orange!I created this page using some Halloween elements, like Clear Scraps Mini Bat Album and googly eyes, and non-Halloween items, like this school themed paper from Pink Paislee.

I used a BUNCH of different techniques on this layout:

• Embossed Acrylic - I embossed two of the bat shaped pages from the Clear Scraps Mini Bat Album with a Sizzix Embossing Folder and a Sizzix Big Shot Machine.

• Sanding - After embossing the bats, I sanded the back of each to add texture to the raised, embossed image. I also sanded the edges of the Pink Paislee Acrylic Card on the back and rubbed paint into the grooves to make the image on the front of the card stand out.
• Paint for Distressing - I painted the Clear Scraps Mini Bat Album with white acrylic paint and then used a paper towel to remove the paint from the raised parts of the image.
• Paint - Painted the Chipboard gears from the Clear Scraps Clear N Chip Carson's Park and sprinkled them with glitter while they were still wet.
• Rub-Ons - I added scraps of partial rub-ons sheets to the edges of the front of the Clear Scraps Dazed Square.
• Inking - I inked the back of the  Clear Scraps Dazed Square with Staz-On ink in black to help make the rub-ons stand out and also define the edges of the acrylic square.

• Stitching - I punched holes on the cut edges of the  Clear Scraps Dazed Square and used a hole punch to punch 5 holes in each piece of acrylic. I then laced/sewed the pieces together with twine.

There is really so much you can do with acrylic!! Emboss, paint, ink...the sky is the limit.

Early Christmas?

 

Have you started on your Christmas projects? It's always never too early to start on those fun and exciting Christmas projects. Today, I would like share with you all this acrylic stocking which I've created as part of  Clear Scraps booth display during this Summer CHA. 

I've used Bo Bunny's Noel line to create this stocking. The warm vintage Christmas colours are just perfect.

Here are some close-ups on it.

Check out how I've gilttered this acrylic snowflake. I've first stamped on it using White Staz On and then apply some Tombow liquid glue on parts of it before pouring fine glitter over it. I've also used some Distress Stickles to highlight its edges. Try creating some of these fun acrylic snowflakes for your tree this year!

How cool would a Christmas present be with an alcohol inked acrylic tag! Check out the tag above. I've used Clear Scraps mini acrylic tags and inked a mixture of alcohol ink on it. Then, I've highlight it's edges with Viva Decor pearl pen. Super easy and fun!

Back To School Fun~

Good morning Pinky here from beautiful Tennessee!

I don't know about y'all but my boys have been back to school since the first week of August!

I think summers are so much shorter now then when I was a child.

Of course we all want to document those special back to school days, and why not make it extra special with the fun XL Shapes from Clear Scraps? Here I used the XL Scalloped Shape.

To make the edges really pop and show the acrylic shape off

I added little dots with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

I love how unique the Clear Scraps acrylic makes this page, I always get ooohhs and ahhhs when I pull out my acrylic pages from Clear Scraps

If you ever feel intimidated by acrylic just try a layout first, you really cannot mess it up. It's not only beautiful but so much fun!

At The Beach!!!

Hello everyone!! hope you are having a wonderful summer!!! It came a little late for us but now that it's here it 's wonderful! Hopefully it will extend onto early fall, that would be really nice! Speaking about summer, here's an album I made -  "at the Beach" using the Clear Scraps CB Sandcastle Album . I love shaped album, it's  so much fun to work on, it's quick and easy and Clear Scraps has a lot of it.  With this project, I played with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint and color wash spray.  With technique,  you just have to experiment and it may turn out into something  you really love! :)) like I did,  I love the color and texture on this one. I then added my favorite photos and embellishments.  Thanks for being here and hope you like it!
