Clear Scraps and Core-dinations!

Passion(resize)Since it's the featuring Clear Scraps with Core-dinations week, I would like to share this layout above which I've created using a Clear Scraps acrylic XL shape and some acrylic flowers with tons of Core'dinations papers.

Check out some of the flowers which I've created using these products.

Both Clear Scraps acrylic and Core'dinations papers works so well with a little embossing, sanding and inking. Hope you all find this layout fun and inspiring!

Core'dinations and Clear Scraps

A match made in heaven! We here at Clear Scraps are lucky enough to have Core'dinations as one of our product swap partners. This gives those of us on the Clear Scraps design team the opportunity to work with their lovely card stock. I was sent the Ebony&Ivory pack of paper. On this particular card I used the Whitewash paper in a light blue. I love the softness that this paper lent to my project.

                                          Cscorecard1

I started with a piece that I die cut with a Spellbinders die template. Then I used one of the new flower accents from Clear Scraps and put it under the Core'dinations papers to trace around it for an embossed look. Next I lightly sanded the edges of that flower to let the core (light blue) of the paper to subtly. After that I took another one of the flowers and ran it through an embossing folder and embossed it, after I had some raised flowers on it, I light dabbed some white paint on them. Last I took a Sharpie and traced around the edge of the flower.

Hope you enjoyed this little card. Thank you so much to Core'dinations!

A Banner For Caleb

We welcomed little "Caleb" into the world almost 6 weeks ago! One more nephew to welcome to the family:)
I decided to make a little banner to hang above his crib using some Clear Scraps Mini Banner pages from one of their mini books. I had so much fun creating this banner!!!
I hooked the pages together with brass rings and tied loads of ribbon and chenille stems onto them. I layered on punched circles, felt accents, chipboard stickers, and buttons -- so love chunky full layers on projects!! I added rub-ons to two acrylic arrows to make them stand out from the acrylic pennants as accents. I inked the diecut chipboard letters by Pink Paislee with ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink to make them match the papers I used. I sprayed the acrylic pennants with Smooch Spritz, painted them, inked them, and then splattered them with more acrylic paint. I had a blast!!!
Supplies:
Pennants, Arrows - Clear Scraps
Paper, Chipboard Diecuts - Bo Bunny Press
Rub-Ons - Cosmo Cricket
Alphas - Pink Paislee
Felt - Fancy Pants
Paint - Delta
Ink - Clearsnap, Tsukinenko

Christmas Ornaments

I know, I know... it still is a ways off, and we keep showing you Christmas! But why not, lol! No time like the present to get all your ornaments made, your gifts started... lol.

Here are some ornaments that I made for the CHA booth this year. If you were lucky enough to attend, did you see them there?

Ornaments1
To create these, I covered them in alcohol ink, and the used a mask and some StazOn in opaque to create a frosted effect. I then outlined with some Stickles and added some gorgeous Prima flowers.

Ornaments2

These ones were made using alocohol ink and the same method above, except - I outlined the mask using a Pearl Pen, and then I dripped silver alcohol mixatives into the ornaments. On the left (purple) I waited until the alcohol ink was dry... and on the right (teal) I dripped the mixative in while the alcohol was still very wet!

Ornaments3

These final ornaments were still made with alcohol ink, but I added some book pages, rub-ons, and Pearl Pen for added oomph! On the left I made the dots, or pearls if you will... and on the right, I smooshed the pearl medium for a pretty dimensional effect.

What fun these were to make!

xx Heidi

Believe Sign

Susan created this Believe frame for our CHA booth and we've had so many requests for instructions on how to make it so....here it is.

Really, this is a simple project that makes an excellent class or Make & Take. It's super easy and yet it's an amazing home decor piece in minutes.

Clearscrapsbelivesignsusan

First of all, Susan started with her favourite Bible verse. She printed it out on the bottom of an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cream cardstock, eliminating the first word (Believe) from the verse before printing. She added extra pieces of the same cream cardstock onto the ends of this one and trimmed them all to fit into a $3 black frame she bought at Walmart.

Then she took the large XL Expressions Clear Word title: BELIEVE

CSLTbelieve-2T

and trimmed patterened paper to fit. She peeled the film off of both sides of the acrylic word, and adhered the paper that she trimmed onto the back of the acrylic with several small dots of Zip Dry. ( If you use small amounts of Zip Dry, and keep them around the outside perimeter of the word, they'll be virtually invisible.)

When that was done, she took a dryer sheet and wiped down the front of the acrylic. (This will eliminate the static charge present and make working with glitter a lot easier, trust us).

She stamped around the edges of the word, on the top of the acrylic with a swirly stamp and some Timber Brown Staz On ink from Tsukinecko. When the ink was dry, she outlined some of her stamped designs with a Quickie Glue Pen from Sakura and then sprinkled the project liberally with glitter. She shook off the excess glitter and adhered this word Believe to her cream cardstock, completing the verse.

There are many XL Expression Clear Words to choose from:

Family, Memories, Believe, Faith, Live, Love, Hope, Laugh, Together, Create

What will you put on your sign??

New Clearly Accent Embellishments!!

These new items are the items I've been waiting for! I love acrylic embellishments! So when Clear Scraps send me these items I jumped up and down!! On this layout I used some.

Vintage flowers

If I would need to pick my favorite new release it would be the clearly accent embellishments flowers.

With this layout I used them in 2 ways. I added white paint and alcohol ink on both versions. With one version I left the flowers to dry and with the other version I used the heattool to heaten up the leaves and curl them.

It really looks amazing on your work! I'll promise...;-))

Halloween Fun!

Hi everyone! It's Irene here! As most of you might have known, Halloween is not celebrated here in Malaysia. But Clear Scraps newly released Halloween minis are so cute and fun to play with! I've decided to create some halloween fun projects using it.

These halloween minis are a perfect match with Bo Bunny's Whoo-ligans line. Therefore, I've created some projects using it.

Below is a "Bat wall hanging".

Birthday Boy!!!

Hello and good Monday morning to everyone! It's me Adora sharing a layout I made using some of the new  Clear Scraps Acrylic Shapes;    Butterflies , Frames and Banners Embellishments

Seriously CUTE, I love them all!!! This is a layout of my grandson who turns five in this picture.

IMG_5592
I love these little banners, I can easily put this on all of my layouts :). I used Pink Paislee papers to embellished it.

IMG_5589
And who does not like butterflies! :)  Clear Scraps Acrylics are so easy to work on, I first traced and cut the shaped onto my paper. I bend it a little and glued it to the paper to add dimension.

And there you go!  Can't get enough of these acrylic shapes, they're wonderful.

Other Supplies Used ; Pink Paislee Paper,Making Memories Buttons; Heidi Swapp Plastic Number. Until next time, have a wonderful scrappy week!!
