Since I already created a word album for my daughter Amy, I needed to create one for Fenna as well.
I used Pink Paislee papers with this album.
With this album I mostly placed paper behind the page so I had the acrylic to work on. This way I could add ink spatters and liquid pearls to decorate the page without the fluids drawn into the paper. kwim?
The chipboard elements, stickers, ribbon and crystal brads are also by Pink Paislee.
I used the Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro to add everything.
Have a great day!
For the cover, I dripped alcohol ink randomly on the side, cut out my paper titlework and glued it down. Then, I used molding paste to texturize the right side of the butterfly. I glued down a piece of Pink Paislee paper onto its backside, and finished the front off with some more embellies and touch more molding paste to draw it all together.
For this second page:
I let mostly the elements from the front do all the design work for me, as you can see the backside of the Pink Paislee paper, and again the alcohol ink and molding paste! However, I did add a couple paint strokes of gesso, my picture and then a few rub-ons from Hambly.
To create this page, I once again added a torn piece of paper from Pink Paislee, brushed on some gesso, added those cute penants from PP as well, splashed on some Shimmerz paint and framed the right side of my photo with another transparency.
This page is all about using alcohol inks and a Viva Pearl Pen! I dripped the alcohol ink on top of where the backside of my paper was showing through, and then I glued down a butterfly wing transparency. I then randomly dripped and doodled with the Viva Pearl Pen for added dimension.
Now THIS page was a fun one to create! I laid down a mask, and smeared molding paste all over it and only on the right side of the butterfly. I then dripped alcohol ink inside and out of the lines, adding pink stickles into the random petal parts of the mask. After adding my photo and some more transparency, this page was done!
And the final page, or the backside of the album...
I once again let most of the albums pages beforehand do the design work! I simply added some paper on the left wing, rubbed on some rub-ons and molding paste and attached my photo... the one whose life I was celebrating!
It was messy, it was arty, and it was FUN! Acrylic can breathe so much life into a work of art, I hope you give it a try soon!

Have a GREAT DAY!
Christmas in July? Yep! Did you know Clear Scraps makes ornaments? Clear Scraps acrylic is so versytle that you can do just about anything to it and its going to look great! Here I took a small shape and used an embossing folder to dry emboss it through my Cuttlebug! Then I used Alcohol inks - blues and greens then covered most of the back with a Paint Daubbr in Pearl.
Here I started using the same techniques as above, but did not add the Pearl paint daubber - you can tell this on is more translucent. ( I used alcohol inks in blues, greens and silver metallic.) I added little stars with Zip Dry and edged the shape with silver Stickles.
It's me again, Grace. Today I want to share with you a layout I made using some Clear Scraps acrylic mini ornaments.
Memories to Treasure
love this picture of the kids hamming up at the camera. I can never get a great photo of the kids without having some funny treasures in the mix as well. So to make this layout fun and yet evoke my love for both my children, I decided to play with some acrylic heart mini ornaments and I also added a mini deco shape to house my journaling. Oh and the "memories" part of my title is also from Clear Scraps. Lots of fun things all around in this layout.
I've been obsesses with dry embossing my acrylics lately. If you haven't tried this super easy technique before, here's my step by step process on how I made my hearts....
First, I picked up five different embossing folders. There's so many out there now that the possibilities are endless. Make sure you take out the clear film from your acrylic before running them through your embossing machine. I know that's kind of a given when you play with acrylic but believe me, even now, sometimes I forget. LOL
So your hearts should look like these.
Then I threaded some colorful ribbons through the holes, double knotting each one.
then I added foam dots. Make sure you pay attention with the placement of your adhesive behind the acrylic.Sometimes, even you've painted them, the adhesive will still show on the back. Just be aware of that before you place your adhesive.
I say to be aware of it, because I made that mistake here. I told you sometimes, even I forget my "acrylic rules". LOL. So cover up the adhesive on one of the hearts, I added flowers to it.
So there you have it. Oh BTW, with the deco shape and the "memories" word, I painted them green (on the back for some shine to show through) and used the same glitter glue on the edges.
Have a great day.
Till next time,
Hi everyone! Today I would like to share with you all this layout which I've created using a Clear Scraps acrylic XL shape. I really love to use these XL shapes as the base for my layouts.
Here are some close-ups on it.
I've misted some Shimmerz Paints on the acrylic surfaces.
Hope you all like this layout!

Yep, I said Christmas! It's that time of year when I am yearning for a little cooler weather (I know, I know, it wasn't THAT long ago that it was cool outside.) So I thought since we are halfway through the year, and I am wishing for some cool air... that I would bring on the Christmas project. :)
The acrylic Stocking album was so much fun to work with! I love that I can emboss, ink, and use molding paste as an accent, and it holds every little thing that I attach to it!
I "filled" my stocking to the brim with all things snowy and beautiful, added pearls and beads, and accented with my pearl pen. The color scheme... while maybe not Christmas-y, definitely was a cool enough winter palette, loaded with lots of alcohol inks to really make the acrylic shine!
It's going to look marvelous hanging up this year, don't you think?
Now... I only have to wait for 6 more months... sigh.
(Plenty of time to make a bunch more.)
