I "adore" the XL Deco squares

I love working with all of the XL shapes from Clear Scraps.  Today I am sharing a layout that I did with the XL Deco Squares.  They come 2 to a package with 2 different shapes.  If you are wondering or looking for a different XL shape then Clear Scraps has got you covered.  There are several different shape combinations for you to choose from.  See  XL SHAPES on the Clear Scraps Site for more choices.

Adore 1a

Products used:

Clear Scraps XL Deco Squares

Melissa Frances Pattern paper

Making Memories Pattern paper

Prima flowers & bling swirl

Petaloo flowers

My Little Shoebox mini purple alphas

Zig Paint Marker

Brown ink

Jenni Bowlin bingo card (I cut the top off and used it as my title)

MS butterfly punches

Here are a few Tips that I wrote down while I was doing this layout.

1. Using the Zig Paint Marker shake it up very well and just follow your edge.  Go slow if you don't have a steady hand.  It dries pretty quick which is nice.

2. While it's drying get your papers cut and trim your edges with your favorite decorative edge punch.

3. Ink all the edges of your papers.

4. Find some of your favorite embellishments that you have in your stash that will work with your papers. A lot of times I will just use what is left on my desk from a previous layout or project.  A great way to use up those stragglers.

5. Build your layout on the XL Deco Acrylic shape with a strong adhesive.  Remember the laws of gravity.  A few of my favorites are Zip Dry and 3-in-1 which are both made by Beacon and are a wet adhesive.  If you are a dry adhesive user Glue Arts High Tac works great.

6. The little black polka dot butterflies where punched from the package that the bling came in.

Clear Scraps Blog Hop - featuring Unity Stamps

During the year, our Design Team gets the chance to team up with other manufacturers and we swap products so that our team gets to play with fun new stuff and others out there get to play with some acrylic.  This past term we had a great time playing with some stamps that we got from Unity Stamps.  They were wonderful people to work with and their stamps are top-of-the-line rubber that left a clean, crisp image on the acrylic and other projects we worked on every time!

Take a little stroll through our Designers' blogs and tell us what you think.  If you comment on all the blogs and then come back here to tell us you did, we'll enter you in a draw for a nice prize package from Clear Scraps!

Ace-A Roo Clear N Chip

All Boy Mini Album(resize)

Hello everyone! It's Irene here again! Have you tried playing with some Clear Scraps Clear N Chip? Above is a little mini album that I've created using the Ace-A-Roo Clear N Chip.

Below are some pages in this cute little album.

All Boy Mini Album (page 1 and 2)(resize)

All Boy Mini Album (page 5 and 6)(resize)

I've used papers from My Mind's Eye to create this mini album. Notice how I've added space on this mini album by adding the huge tags on it.

I've also used Viva Decor pearl pens all around this mini album. I've also used it to create the "mud" on the tires in the front cover.

This Clear N Chip set is perfect for all kind of boys theme and even on "we're moving" theme. Stretch your creative mind and have some experimental fun! To see more of this mini album, you could check it out at my blog.

This Christmas..???

Hi all! Rita here!
Christmas??? in August - I know weird but thats all my baby girl talks about lately! Well, since her big sis (pictured in the lo! A long time ago) left for college. You see, baby girl knows that Christmas is the next time she will see her big sis and she misses her very much - in spite of the daily phone calls! lol!
So I guess it isn't so weird that I would post a Christmas lo in August..right?
This is a close up of the journaling...
These are my oldest kids, who are now 18 and 16!
It's amazing how quickly they grow!
The papers are Ta Da Creative Studios . The shape of the paper and Acrylic overlay is my favorite shape at Clear Scraps It is called  the XL Deco and it comes in a two pack. This pic is really old so I wanted to protect it, the acrylic covers the base paper and the picture - the embellishments and title lay on top.

Here you can see the envelope closed with some quilling...speaking of which, has anybody seen my tool? I  haven't seen it in weeks and it is driving me crazy because I really like quilling! The bling is Prima, the stamps Ta Da Creative, the chipboard is We Are Memory Keepers.
The ink is Dew Drops. If you are trying to figure out how to attach acrylic try Glue Dots. I just put them in random places that I know I will be covering later (with flowers or whatever); they work great!

And on Friday 8/27
be sure to stop by for a Clear Scraps, featuring Unity Stamps  blog hop!!!
Start here at the Clear Scraps blog and follow the list of designers blogs. Comment on everyone's blog and then come back to the Clear Scraps blog and let us know that you did. Everyone who completes this blog hop will be entered for a really nice prize package from Clear Scraps.
How cool is that? Happy Wednesday!

I ***LOVE*** the large CS shapes

They are hands down one of my favorite items that Clear Scraps makes. I adore using them as a base for a layout. For this following layout I used one of the pieces from the XL scallop shape pack. You know what else I love? My Mind's Eye and the fact that they are a product swap sponsor with us. I also used Tattered Angels Glimmer Spray on the back of the page and used Super Seal on top to keep the mist from smudging. Around the edge of the page I applied little dots of paint with a ZIG paint pen.

It's Carnival Time

Hello it's me again!

Another thing that reminds me of summers are carnivals and fairs. My favorite thing about fairs are always the food. It amazes me all the possible food that can be fried! LOL

Here's a page about my daughter's Carnival day at Preschool

It's carnival time

It's carnival time (1)

It's carnival time (2)

This page is so easy to lift....

1. Cut an 8x8 piece from the blue floral paper. Adhere to the left of the yellow cardstock.

2. Cut a 2x8 piece from the pink and adhere to the top of the blue paper.

3. Add a 1/2" strip of striped paper between the pink and blue paper.

4. Punch out 1" circles from yellow paper and cut in half. Ink the edges and then adhere on top of pink paper to create scallop edge.

5. Take out the paper films from acrylic pieces and add pearl pen around the edges. Set aside to dry.

6. Matt the focal picture with yellow cardstock and arrange the rest of the pictures on the page. Adhere them.

7. Layer flowers. Tie ribbon onto buttons and adhere to the centers of flowers.

8. Adhere the acrylic pieces onto the page with clear adhesive or glue dots. *Add a journaling block with the framed acrylic piece first before adhering to the page.

9. Add the title stickers and handwrite your journaling.

10. Add the flowers to create a visual triangle.

11. Add pen lines around the the three sides of the yellow cardstock.

Vacation Mini

August usually means vacation to me so what better way to showcase the Clear Scraps Chipboard All Mixed Up Album than by making a "Vacation" themed album.

Last year we took the kids on a weekend trip to a nearby lake for some camping fun and a trip in the lake with our canoe. I didn't want my dslr to get into a "wet" accident to I opted to purchase one of those one time use cameras that are waterproof and used that during our cruise along the lake.

Here's the album

Silverwood lake mini

Clear scraps1

I painted the chipboard all white and then sprinkled the pages with punched out pattern papers, stickers and rubons. I love that the mini album pages are in increasing sizes so you can see the inside pages from the front. For the journaling, I used a lined stamp to make my handwriting even or at least even!

I also loved the size of this album. It fit most of my 4x6 pictures without or less cropping.

Preferred products used:

Letter stickers from Cosmo Cricket

Rubons and letter stickers from Hambly Screen Prints

Thank you for looking,

Grace

Hello Diva's!

Hey, hey bloggers! Rita here and I am so excited to share this new Clears Scrapsalbum (This is new for CHA!!!) And I am sure you recognize the GCD Studios Artsy Urban line I used to fill it up! I am so excited about this Mini album, it’s called…..Diva! LOL! It is so cute perfect for all you divas to carry!
Now, I don’t have any pictures in this because I made it especially for CHA and I just got it so I didn’t have a lot of time but I was thinking what a cute gift this would make and they could fill it with their pictures, or journaling , maybe a graduate gift …
When working with acrylic it is important to use a really good adhesive – I use Zip Dry, it sticks quickly and doesn’t fall off. For the cover I used a little in the middle of the butterflies and they look great! (The little frame is from Melissa Frances and the words are from Jenni Bowlin)
This page is actually clear so I put the mat for journaling or a picture. The butterfly really pops, you know I love bling! The back of the butterfly looks good too because it is solid silver. The black lace you see is actually another page I made out of a Hambly Screen Prints.
I love red, white and black together, classic. Prima bling…Did I mention I love bling?
Do you see the two scrolls on each side? Those are glued to the acrylic and when you lift the acrylic page the pattern paper and card is on the next page.
Can you see what that says? It says “be kind to your dreams”. Good advice. Isn’t that girl cute? I have wanted to use her for something! One layer of flowers is on the acrylic, the cute girl flowers and sign are on the next page.
I am thinking more and more this would be a good album for my dd who is headed off to college in THREE DAYS! :( “Dare to fly” is a good motto for her now.
The last page has the pattern paper and the chipboard on a chipboard page. The black frame is another Hambly Screen print cut to size.
And there it is! TFL!

~Basic Grey & Clear Scraps Brag Bag a match made in heaven!

Hey!

Pinky here back from CHA and back to creating!

I have always had a love affair with acrylic, and the Brag Bags from Clear Scraps are no different especially when I have Basic Grey to help me out!

Here is the Acrylic Flower Brag Bag from Clear Scraps and a whole lot of beautiful vintage Basic Grey

On the cover I used my French Manor Cartridge

Through the album I used Basic Grey papers.
And you can see the Monarch Butterfly Punch
from Martha Stewart, I love her punches!
Here I used a really old Daisy D Rub-on
and a leftover cloth brad from the August Kit from SFTIO
On this page I also used more from the SFTIO kit,
including the brown stamp and the alphas were also from the kit.
Using the theme from the cover I used more sewing
patterns to create this flower. I threw in some vintage lace.
This is all Basic Grey, their stickers were so yummy!
Some twill I had and another Basic Grey sticker

Another fabric brad and flower from SFTIO kit, also
some very OLD 7Gypsies rub-ons, I have been
hoarding them! :)
More sewing patterned paper, crinkled and ruffled.
Oh and on the lower edged some VIVA DECOR Paint pen!
My FAVORITE product!
Here on the back
I used wide vintage lace to make the flower
and my Imaginisce i-top to make the center
with the Medium Brads. Also I used tulle that

I sprayed with Coral Glimmer Mist.

I hope you found some ideas for your next mini album!

Acrylic Basket Brag Bag

I'm always in the mood for creating a mini album. This time I choose the Acrylic Basket Brag Bag. I had some lovely photos of the girls with animals.

So I decided to create an 'Animal' mini album.

I didn't cover up the cover of the album. I wanted to let the other pages shine through. Thats the effect I love about acrylic.

If you love the album just like I do, you can buy it over here.

As you can see I added some liquid pearl dots around the border. Love the detail!

They're not just for Christmas!

At summer CHA a few weeks ago Clear Scraps released some new Christmas items, one of them was this new Clear n' Chip Believe mini album.

                                                           CNCbelieve-1

Well, I had some unused pieces after I had created a mini album and they worked perfectly on a very un-christmas layout! On this layout I used the star from the chipboard page. I covered it with patterned paper and sanded the edges. I also used the word 'believe' from the acrylic page and outlined it with a black ZIG painty pen and topped off the dot of the i with a crystal.

                                        Csbelieve1

                                        Csbelieve2

                                        Scbelieve3

                                        Csbelieve4

Other supplies used: Rub ons by Hambly, papers and stickers by Pink Paislee, butterflies  by Maya Road, metal studs and tiny letters by Basic Grey, EK success ticket punch, stamps by Studio Calico.

Would love to see what you create with our Clear n' Chip lines!

One of a Kind Flower

DSC_0139

Hi everyone! It's Irene here. This is a flower that I've created on a project recently. I've used a Clear Scraps acrylic flower on the second layer of the flower.

I've actually embossed the acrylic flower using Sizzix Big Shot and an embossing folder and later ink the embossed images with Tsukineko Staz On. (Tip: Remember to cut some slits in between the acrylic petals so that you could fold up the petals to create more dimensions to it)

The full tutorial on this flower could be found at my blog. Happy crafting!

Glass Gel Effect on acrylic!

Have you tried using glass gel on acrylic? I've had a chance to play with some glass gel effect pen from Viva Decor while creating one of my Clear Scraps project. These gel effect pens are so cool and they do come in various gorgeous colors. Take a look here at what I've accomplished using it with Clear Scraps acrylic.

DSC_0072

Isn't it cool? I've attached a felt heart by Creative Impressions in the middle of a small Clear Scraps acrylic heart. Then, I've colored the heart using two different colors of glass effect gel pen by Viva Decor. This is such a cool way to add colors and dimensions to acrylic and still maintain the translucent effect of it.

I hope I've inspired you all in someway! Try to imagine a tons of them hanging on your Christmas tree this year! Happy experimenting!
