CHA Demos With The New Clear Scraps Cupcake Minis

As we were setting up the Clear Scraps booth for CHA, one of the girls had a fantastic idea to get out a Cuttlebug machine and demonstrate how our new Clear Scraps keychain minis can be embossed with the Cuttlebug embossing folders. We opened up the binder ring, removed the mini pages, embossed them, and handed them out to people who visited our booth so they could have a reminder of how very versatile our acrylics are. A lot of people just couldn't believe that our acrylics can be embossed! Pretty cool, isn't it?

Since a lot of people who stopped by to see us now have single embossed mini pages, I thought I would share a project idea for what you can do with them. Of course, there are a zillion and one things you can do with them...so this is only one idea out of many possibilities.

I created a cupcake card that could be used for a variety of occasions. When I made the card I was thinking "wedding" ~ perhaps a bridal shower card or a wedding thank you card. Then it occurred to me that this card is probably even more appropriate for a birthday. I was going to stamp a sentiment on it but then I decided to leave it blank so that I can wait for the next appropriate card-giving occasion before I add the sentiment.

The focal point of the card is one of the new clear minis in the cupcake shape. It was embossed using the Cuttlebug "Textile" embossing folder and then decorated with Liquid Pearls and outlined with Zig Painty Pen. The card was made using papers by Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Creative Imaginations, Daisy D's, and Bazzill.

CHA...CHA...CHA

We wanted to give everyone a look at our booth at CHA...  We took this photo shortly after getting everything in just the perfect spots. The Design team did an amazing job with all their samples for the booth.  Everyone that walked into our booth was so impressed, took a lot of photos and just adored it all. 

During the show the design team gals showed off how you can emboss our acrylic in the cuttlebug as well as our chipboard.  Everyone really was amazed at how crisp it embossed and how to bring the embossed images out with inks etc. 

We want to thank all the amazing stores, people and other vendors that came to visit us.  Yall made our CHA show that much better... 

HIJACK....   Elisa K here...  As those of you that came into the booth and meet my bubbly personality as I cracked up all the people across from us, next to us etc...  and since Janet and Jackie are sitting here chillin in there beds watching American Idol, spraying perfume and drinking some starbucks and making me type this... I thought I would dish a bit about them....  lol

J and J can't live without all of this.... Yes ladies and gents.....   They went threw 2 cases of Mountain dew during the show and even ran out and were so happy that all the vending machines had Mountain Dew in them at $2.50 a pop... 

Honestly though J and J are 2 amazing woman who are very passionate about what they do and believe in their product.  No they didn't offer me lots of money to say this... ok maybe it's worth $130...(inside joke...)  LOL  

Ok now back to the serious stuff...  CHA was a great experience and we can't wait to see everyone rocking our products...  There are more great things to come from Clear Scraps so be sure to keep a close watch on us.... 

Ok now I have to go help Jackie cuz she spit starbucks all over her bed.. LOL

Fun Clear Scraps Minis!!

      Have you seen these cute and fun little minis from Clear Scraps which will be officially release on this Winter CHA? These are "must haves"!! They're so fun! You could create various fun and fast projects with these. They make great gifts too!

Here are some of my samples.

 

I've used various shapes from 3 different minis and put them together to create this mini album. The sizes of the minis are just perfect for embossing! Just run them through your embossing tool and you'll get a very cool effect on these pieces.

 

This second mini album is a gift for my husband. It's very small and handy that he could keep it anywhere he wants, even in the car. Now, he has something to look at and smile while he's stuck in traffic jams.

"Guy" Layouts are easy with Clear Scraps Slides! Plus a Sneak Peek and a Giveaway!

My husband is into extreme sports ~ mountain biking, dirt biking, motorcycle racing, rock climbing...stuff like that. He has made it more than clear that he does not really want flowers, rhinestones, and ribbon on his extreme sports layouts. I understand. But...what to do with them? Making "girly" layouts comes easy to me, especially with all the gorgeous products available with flourishes and flowers and swirls. I find that making "guy" layouts is more of a challenge.

Clear Scraps to the rescue! I have discovered that Clear Scraps slides are the perfect complement to extreme sports layouts. Here I painted the slides with a little bit of alcohol ink and adhered them to a piece of subtly patterned paper by Basic Grey (using Zip Dry Paper Glue). Add some Thickers letter stickers by American Crafts and the finished result is a perfectly masculine layout. It was really quick and easy, too, which is an added bonus. So if you've been looking for ideas for scrapping "guy" layouts, hope this idea inspires you too!

Working with a sketch

I don't know if you love to work with sketches, but I love it. Sometimes i just don't have a lot of inspiration, and then it really helps me to work with a sketch.

I have created a sketch for you to use, and I also created a layout. I used the gorgeous XL Deco sheets.

CHA Sneak Peek! Brand New Clear & Chip Line!

Hi everybody! Happy New Year! Hope your '09 is off to a fantastic start.

We're all rushing around like crazy people trying to get ready for CHA (the Craft & Hobby Association trade show which runs from Jan 25th-27th.) American Girls Mini Album

I wanted to capture the great time we had at the American Girl Store so I adorned this Clear Scraps 6 X 6 Chipboard Album with Basic Grey's new Bittersweet collection.  This whole day was about being girls, having fun and all the pink you could stand!
