Hi, again friends! Leah back with you today to share this super cute new medium deco wood pallet included in the January 2019 Q kit.
The deco wood pallet is 8" x 8" and is perfect for your home decor needs.
To get started, I painted my sign with acrylic paint from my stash. It just wasn't the look I was going for, so I also pulled out distress oxide inks from my stash and blended a few different colors on top of the acrylic paint to create a custom background.
I then grab the raindrop heart stencil and modellier cream from the kit and stencil hearts all over the background.
The modellier cream dries really quick, especially with the help from a heat gun.
I waited until the hearts were dry before repositioning the stencil and adding more hearts. Repeat until the sign is full.
Next, I wanted to add a hanging element, so from my stash, I used some sewing thread and my tiny attacher and stapled the thread to the backside of the sign.
There are videos you can find showing you how to open up your tiny attacher as shown above.
This allowed me to staple the thread down without limitations from the thickness of the wood.
Next, we'll add the 12" bling from the kit as a decorative edging around the sign. Try to keep most of the bling attached to the clear backing sheet, and only pull away a couple inches at a time. Trust me, it is easier this way! lol
You can maneuver the bling around the edges by working slowly. I found it easier to work each quarter of the sign, which allowed me good starting and stopping points.
From my stash, I found a cute transparent sticker and adhered it to the Graphic 45 paper, leaving a small matt around the edge of the sticker.
I also added in two flowers from my stash and adhered them to the sign.
Check out the texture the modellier cream creates with the stencil. I love it.
