Raising a tween is a tough job. They are so impressionable and trying to find themselves in a world full of bullies and know it alls. I fell in love with the quote sheet from the May Kit and decided to turn my banner into a pretty and inspirational one to hang where my children can read it as they walk by in the kitchen.
Let's take a closer look on how this came together. I started by taking one of the acrylic stars from the May Kit and added in a touch of alcohol ink to the edges all around the star.
Then, figure out which papers you want to be as your background on the banner.
Here are mine.
Once you have that figured out, adhere your banner pieces to the pattern paper, and cut away the excess paper using a craft knife.
Then, using a hole punch or cropodile, punch holes through the paper where they are marked on the chipboard.
Cut out any inspirational quotes from the pattern paper that you fancy, and adhere them to the banner pieces.
Now some close ups of the final Banner.
To customize it more I added in stickers from the kit onto the quotes, and also let them flow from one banner piece to the next by letting them overlap a bit.
Once you have everything placed exactly as you like, add in some twine or sewing floss to pull the banner pieces together. I like to work back to front adding in the twine through the holes. You can let the pieces stay close together or further apart, its all preference.
We love when you share us with your friends on social media!
See you soon,
