Hello there, Nicole here again.
When I was creating my pie banner I had a great idea to make my daughter a fun little patriotic "magic" wand. She loves things like this and was so excited when I told her it was for her.
I started with another straw I had on hand and used some navy blue star paper from the kid to make a rosette. I cut the paper into 2 strips that were 2 x 12 inches. I used my scoring pad to make score lines every half of an inch. I accordion folded each strip and then hot glued them together on both ends. To form a circle. I then smooshed it together and held it while I filled the center with hot glue. I held it in place for a little until the hot glue started to cool.
I then took a large scalloped circle punch I had and cut a piece from some star vellum I had on hand. I hot glued that to the top of the rosette. I then glued on the clear scraps star on top of that.
I took some silver thick stickers and added them to the clear star, along with some star stickers, sequins and rhinestones. I cut a little strip that said stars and strips and attached it under one of the stars.
For the final touches to her wand, I took some ribbons I had on hand and tied them to the straw right under the rosette. I cut them at different lengths just for some added fun.
Now she can be a patriotic princess any time of the year.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project.
HERE is all the information on this months kit.
