Hello there. Nicole here to share another project with you.
This kit is so full of fun stuff this month. You can find the kit HERE.
Our kids are now out of school for the summer until late July. But knowing that we will now have all 3 kids in school and everyday they will be coming home with tons and tons of papers I wanted some way to contain it all. So I created these magnet clips so when the kids get home from school everyday they can clip up all of their important papers and we will always know where they are. Test papers, notes from the school, papers they need me to sign. Perfect, and they will go on the fridge and we will see it everyday, no more out of site out of mind for every school paper . YAY for being more organized next year.
To get started, I took the mini clear album and lined it with some of the wood grain paper in the middle of the square. I turned the square in the direction so that the paper would cover the holes.
I then took some washi tape that I had on hand ( I somehow had the same pattern in all 3 of the colors I wanted to use- that never happens to me lol). A tip I use is sometimes if the washi tape is too wide, I just cut it in half with my scissors.
I then had these clips laying around, in the same colors (man I really think this project was meant to be because I just had everything that matched perfectly on hand and didn't plan it before the project lol). I hot glued those to the bottom of the clear square piece. I held them in place for a few minutes to make sure they were good and cooled off.
Then I resized a photo of each of my kiddos and printed those in 1.5x1.5 size and placed them right in the middle of the wood grain paper. I added an enamel dot in the same colors to the side of each photo just for some added pops of color.
Then I took my magnet roll and cut 3 strips a little smaller than the back of the clear square. The back side of the magnet is sticky, but I wanted to make sure it would be extra secure, so I hot glued those strips on the back of the clear square, only behind the wood grain paper.
We put them on the fridge and they are PERFECT. They each have their own clip in their own color so no confusion and we will be able to find all their school papers. Well granted they put them on the clips lol. We may need a few reminders at the start of school, but I want to make it a habit that it is the first thing they do everyday when they come home. I plan to move them down to their level once school starts, but for now I want them to stay up high so they don't play with them before school starts.
I still have one clear square left over from the album and I think I might make a mommy clip for the grocery list, or to do list...etc.
