When I received the May kit and took out the butterfly album, I knew immediately that it would be taken apart and used as anything but an album. But stil making it a simple project was important to me.
Here is the final project, now let me walk you through how I made and show you how simple it is.
First seperate your ClearScraps butterfly wings.
Take out your favorite stencil with nice big letters and words.
Using Tsukineko Staz On Ink so that it adheres to the clear plastic and no smearing.
I used a deep rich red color so that it pops off the wings. Be sure to ink the edges to give them defintion.
I wanted a cool and different background so I used some old sewing patterns. Placed the wingsdown and outlined, then cut.
Use ZipDry to adhere the paper to the wings, use sparingly. I added the buttons from the kit to create the body of the butterfly.
I then stenciled some polka dots on the page that I was using for the background. Then adhered the wings to the page.
I added the fun "Love" letters to the page as well, I inked them with the same deep red ink and added some liquid pearls to the corners. Be sure to let dry before adhering to the page.
I then also added pearls to the edge of the wings to give them some dimension. Again, be sure to let it dry.
Now the page is coming along, adhered the love letters to the page, and added a ClearScraps mirrored butterfly. I used the stazon ink to give it some light color to match the other elements.
I wanted the Love letters to appear like they are hanging on the page, so I added some twine and ran it across the top of the letters to make them appear that way.
Cut the paper down a little, distressed and inked the edges, added anotehr mirror butterfly and a banner element from the kit and adhered it to a Canvas Corp burlap 12" x 12" canvas to complete the project.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Please visit me at www.avintagegirl.com to see what other projects I create and be sure to check back here for another project with the kit.
Thank you.
