Hello everyone. I am so excited to be here!
I am Nicole Mantooth and I am so happy to be here with these super talented ladies. I live in Southern California with my husband Jacob, our 3 children, Little Jacob who is 10, Caleb who is going to be 8 in a month and Chloe who is 5 and starting Kindergarten this year. Life is always on the go and I love documenting our big adventures and our day to day lives through photos and I share them all over facebook and instagram and my blog. I am lucky to have such a supportive husband and kids who just smile on que now. I am looking forward to sharing some projects with you.
For my first project I created a layout with this months kit. Which you can find the kit HERE.
Sometimes I start a layout with a photo and go from there and sometimes I start with papers I love and find a photo I want to use on it. The moment I saw these papers I thought of this photograph I took of my daughter at the park a few years back. I knew that these papers and this photograph were meant to be together.
I used a lot of what is considered the back sides of the patterned paper, because they were more of the same color pallet that I was looking for on this layout.
I printed my photo in a 5x7 and trimmed it with a small white border around the entire thing.
I cut a piece of patterned paper and laid it first down on a full sheet of coordinating patterned paper.
I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut a ton of butterflies from several of the coordinating patterned paper. I also used one of the butterfly stickers in the group on my page. I cut two extra large tags using my Silhouette Cameo, and the word fly.
I added one of the mirrored butterflies to the grouping and it adds that perfect something extra to all the lighter butterflies.
I cut the word fly 5 times, and layered them on top of each other to give it a look of chipboard. I thought this gave more emphasis on the word fly.
I used my LOVE tag stickers from the kit to add a little interest to the upper left of my layout. I used some pink wired twine I had on hand. I also used that same twine to make it look like it was holding my tags together on the right side of the page.
I ran my tag through my printer to add my journaling and the top tag I used some old pink alphabet stickers I had on hand for the rest of my title.
Once I laid down the tags, love stickers and most of the butterflies I spritzed the entire layout with some white craft paint for a little added interest and detail. Then I adhered my photo.
I used some washi tape on the top and bottom of my photo to make it look like that is how the photo is attached to the layout.
The layout really came together and I love the end results. I can't wait to add it to her album. Being the last child her album needs a lot of attention to get caught up.
Thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon with another project.
~Nicole
