Hello crafty peeps!
I am very excited to bring you a layout for scrapbooking or framing made with the May 2015 Creating Made Easy kit! My husband's grandmother turned 92 this month and she and I were talking about all the things she has done - growing up on a farm, modeling, learning to belly dance, working until her late 80's. All with scoliosis and now osteoporosis so bad she is bent over - but she still goes to the local summer concerts and is known as The Dancer! All 5 feet of her is made of moxie!
All the supplies in this layout are in the kit except the pink ribbon, markers and gel pen, and adhesive.
First, I used a paper cutter and scissors to cut varying strips and squares of the Bo Bunny paper from the kit and cut a V-shape into the end of the long strips to make pennants.
The squares of patterned paper I layered behind her photo. Using the scalloped circle frame in the kit, I inked with a purple alcohol marker then I used it to frame her face. The mini frames are great for focusing on a detail.
I cut out a tag from the paper and added just a few words describing her roles in life to it with alcohol marker and white gel pen. I did the same for the title and her name.
I adhered the photo with the square mats, added a short length of pink ribbon scrap I had, and layered the paper pennants I cut out around it with a simple tape runner from my supplies.
Then I went crazy with the embellishments! First I removed the film from the Clear Scraps mirrored butterflies in the kit and had them "land" around the page. I added the Bo Bunny card stock stickers and adhesive-back buttons randomly to bring focus to the butterflies and frame.
This layout can be easily changed to any theme with a different photo and title. Don't limit the mirrored butterflies to big projects, they can bring shine and life to layouts, too!
Stay crafty, my friends!
Liza
