Hello all! Today I have for you a scrapbook page featuring the Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy Kit for March. This kit includes Clear Scraps goodies like a circle album and Graphic 45 paper so I had a grand time making projects with it!
Everything you see here is in the kit with the exception of a ivory solid paper, a brad, scrap ribbon, markers and glue, all from my stash.
Spring and summer are right around the corner - or so they tell me here in snowy New England. So my thoughts turn to weddings and parties. I am going to give you a little DIY on this layout, it's simple and fun but the acrylic circle makes a big, elegant impact!
First, I took one page from the included Clear Scraps Circle Mini Album. I removed the film from both sides, then, using three shades or green alcohol markers from my supplies, I colored rings on the edge of the circle. Don't worry if they aren't perfect, because then you take a blender pen and converge them with a watercolor effect! I chose mossy greens to match the paper and to give it an aged feel.
I used a circle cutter to make a floral paper circle 1" smaller than the acrylic circle, so 5" across. I adhered that to the BACK of the circle, so the floral shows through, giving it depth when I collage the top.
I pulled a solid ivory cardstock page from my supplies as a base, and decided where I wanted my circle placed, but didn't attach it yet. I made a small pencil mark where the center would be. Using a ruler, I used more alcohol and watercolor markers to make thick and thin lines in green, peaches, pink and brown. Some I dashed. There was no rhyme or reason to the layout other than crossing over that circle center point. I made them long, short, varied the look as I went.
Once I was happy with my lines, I ran strips of the paper through a sticker maker. Some of the strips I cut to match, some were scraps from the other kit projects I made. They didn't have to be the full length, as you can see, just extend out from behind the paper to give the illusion that they are. This is a great way to stretch your papers. I cut the ends at angles as I laid them out next to and between my marker lines. I also added some sheer organza pink ribbon that I had in my scraps which adds annother texture.
Finally on my background, I added a few of the cardstock sentiment stickers and cut out wedding images from the kit!
Back to the acrylic circle, I added a bride image from the Kit paper and a small solid photo mat from my stash. Using a brass brad from my supplies and a yellow scrap of ribbon, I layered three of the green flowers from the kit and glued it over the top hole in the album page. I fluffed and curled the petals with my fingers to give them shape.
Using liquid glue, I attached the acrylic circle over the background, bringing the whole layout together and focusing the eye on the photo area. The clear background with the green lets the strips and ribbon show through and give it height. Add a small photo and journaling, and this is now ready for framing or a scrapbook!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY today. Please leave your kind feedback and tell me what you think and what you will donwith the March Kit!
Stay crafty, my friends,
