Hi! Liza back again with another project using the Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy January Kit!. This project was one of my favorites so far, a Gratitude Has Wings wall hanging banner using the Clear Scraps 6" x 6" chipboard shapes. I'm very excited that the instructions for this project is included with the kit!
This project is made using all the items included in the kit, and I added ink, ribbon, adhesive, a die cut shape and embossing from my own supplies.
The great thing about the Clear Scraps shapes in chipboard (or acrylic) is that you can use a ton of techniques and tools on them so the look is different every time. Here I used the shapes as a base for the banner. On just the shapes I embossed, inked, sprayed with metallic gold, and ran sequined ribbon through the pre-punched holes!
The techniques I to embellish each square included embossing, inking for an antique look, gold alcohol ink spray for glitz, collage, and die cuts for the background and layered butterflies. I ran sequined burlap ribbon through the holes punched in the shapes and made bows for "hanging". I inked and layered the flowers in the kit with mixed metal brads. Then I adhered each chipboard shape to an inked yardstick with plain white glue.
Each square has a theme personal to me that reminds me of moments in life I enjoy and appreciate. The colors make it a year-round decoration so I can be reminded to be thankful for each day I have. The butterflies, a recurring theme in my projects, remind me that feeling grateful frees you to fly!
Below are more detailed close ups of each section. Please let me know your thoughts and I love to answer questions! I hope I helped you find your inspiration in the January CME Kit!
