Hello! Liza back with the September Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy Kit.
Included in the kit is the Acrylic Recipe Album. I deconstructed this album into acrylic bookmarks for a cookbook! I am marking some of my family's favorite dishes in a cookbook and gifting it to a friend for a housewarming. Everything I used is included in the September kit except the ink, ribbon and adhesive from my own supplies.
I inked the edges of the acrylic word "RECIPE" to make it stand out. Then I cut 4x6" pieces from the paper included in the kit and ran them through a sticker maker. I also chose different elements from the paper with the vintage recipe card pattern and others. I ran those through the sticker maker, too, then layered them on back of the "RECIPE" and added a ribbon through the "R" and a paper flower. I also fussy cut around the edges of the word.
For the other 4x6 pieces I chose different patterns and ran them through the sticker maker before adhering them to the 4x6" acrylic pages. I layered both sides with collages of elements. I also added the paper flowers from the flower pack to some of the bookmarks. The flowers have paper centers punched out and glued, and I inked the petals.
These bookmarks can be used over and over again and make great gift tags, too.
Here they are in use.
Here they are shown from the front.
This is the reverse view.
And a detail of a pop-up element with foam tape adhesive. (I adore the mixers!)
I hope you enjoyed this, and happy cooking! (And cooking up kit projects!)
