I began with the inside of the card. I cut out this Halloween greeting from the fabulous Graphics 45 papers in the kit. Then I cut a piece of the black & gold hounds tooth paper slightly larger than the greeting piece. These were glued back to back so that the hounds tooth became the backing for the card. Remember, for quality work, you want to finish the backside and bottom side of your creations!
I used the same hounds tooth pattern to line the back of the lock section of the card. I cheated and used a fine-line Sharpie to black out the lock, rather than cutting the paper. The little owl sticker from the kit's sticker page fit perfectly in the opening of the top of the lock! Then I cut and pieced together the trim for the front of the card, from one of the other pages from the kit.
To bring the front all together, I used Viva Decor Pearl Pen - gold (not included in the kit) along the edges of the lock, and the inside and outside borders of the frame. This gives it a little texture and a little glitz!
I put the card together with the clear sticker tabs that are included with the card. Then I glued the inside greeting in place and trimmed the inside of the flap sections with sticker trims from the kit. The clear sticker tabs don't show that much on the clear acrylic, but I still like to cover them if I have the option.
I can't wait to share the rest of the projects that I have made with the October kit, but until then I know you'll enjoy the projects from the rest of the team!! I've seen them, and they are FABULOUS!!!
