Today I have a quick and easy tutorial for you using the fabulous September Creating Made Easy kit from Clear Scraps.
For your convienence you can find the tutorial in PDF here or download it in word format. Download CMESept_Kitchen Décor Tutorial
My cousin is a cupcake lover, an avid roller derby girl, and a baker, so I thought this would be perfect for her kitchen. To start, remove protective covering from your XL Cupcake found in your kit. Apply a mascil (I used the 12" Gears from Clear Scraps) and dab on alcohol ink to create a fun pattern. I went in with two colors to create this sunny pattern. I also ran some alcohol ink around the edge of the cupcake to help make it pop!
Find your County Kitchen Scotch Oatmeal paper and remove the manufacturer paper strip at the bottom. Turn over to the backside. Next, remove the protective film cover from the backside of your cupcake. Run a thin bead of glue around the edge of cupcake, and adhere to the Scotch Oatmeal paper. Burnish well with your finger.
Using your cutting mat and craft knife, cut around edge of cupcake to remove excess paper. Grab your Crop-A-Dile and punch a hole at the top of the cupcake. Thread both ends of your ribbon through the hole, from front to back, then secure the ribbon with a couple of knots.
To add some glitter and shine, run a line of stickles around edge of cupcake. Create rolled flowers using a die cut machine and adhere to bottom of cupcake.
Finish off your project by addressing whose kitchen this is going in, add in some gems, a cute graphic from one of the Farmhouse Collection papers, and you're done!
Join me back here again Sunday for another fun creation using this charming kit.
I love this idea!! Wow!
