Hi everyone, it's me Jeannie with a very fun tutorial for you today.
I am using a bird from the Bird Clearly Accent Embellishments, included in the March 2013 Clear Scraps Main Kit.
To start, I used some Zip Dry glue and mixed it with some Pearl Ex...
...and applied it to the back of my bird accent and let it dry.
I think I mentioned last month, one of my favorite things to use is the actual product layout page that the manufacturer includes with their kit.
I cut some small flowers and the word HAPPY from the product page and glued them on the front of the bird.
Next I added some "bling" and then...
...applied a product I was very excited to try. An epoxy that was supposed to cure with a UV lamp.
Needless to say, I let that little bird cure FOREVER, and finally had to seal it with UV nail polish to get the UV epoxy stickiness to go away!
The good news is that I have a lovely necklace. The epoxy I think is dry and it is strong and glossy since I put my nail polish on top of it all!
You can see I added beads and charms to make it all flow together.
Honestly by looking at this necklace you can't even tell that the bird is a piece of acrylic.
I love the way it turned out....
So...have I given you some new ideas for your Clear Scraps pieces? I hope so!!
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today's Clear Scraps post.
WOW that is so awesome, Jeannie! I love that necklace!
