I love creating home decor items using Clear Scraps acrylic pieces. They are crystal clear and so much fun to work with. Here's an example of this same item hanging against my brick wall outside. I had a hard time getting this shot, so it is a little wonky. :)
I have a few simple instructions showing you how to recreate this same piece if you are interested below.
First, I peeled off the protective film from the XL Deco Acrylic. Then, I taped down the Rejoice stencil and scraped on some Glitter gel from my stash.
Peel the stencil away wet, so you have time to clean up any boo boo's like mine below. I just took a wet baby wipe to clean it off. I also ran to the sink to clean off the stencil so it's good as new for the next time I want to use it.
While the word Rejoice is drying, grab your Easter chipboard word and using gelato's from your stash, rub it all over the chipboard.
I chose colors that went well with the background paper I am using from the kit.
Once the rejoice word is dry on the XL deco acrylic, and using the same colored gelato's, I used a water brush to paint on some color to the word rejoice. I was going for a cotton candy look. I thought it came pretty close.
I used #5506 for the background paper on this project. I trimmed two pieces to 3" X 12" strips for the top and bottom of the XL Deco acrylic.
I found it easiest to tape down one strip at a time, then place my adhesive on the acrylic where the paper was going to be adhered. That way it wouldn't slip and move on me while I was placing the acrylic down.
Once the paper is adhered, cut away the excess using your Kraft knife.
The fun part is next, and that is embellishing!
Using one of the title cards from #5505 I cut away the three little bugs in jars and popped them up on pot dots to use as embellishments.
This project took about 45 minutes and it looks so cute hanging up in the house ready for Easter! Punch a hole in the top acrylic if you would like to hang this up to display.
Everything is from the March 2017 CME kit except for the gelato's, glitter gel, adhesive, ribbon, and silks sealing paint.
